Do you know what the title "Call of DOOM" means?

This title was not originally my idea; it is the nickname for the reboot version of DOOM, which was announced in 2012 but was later canceled.
It was like a game that combined elements of DOOM and Call of Duty, with human soldiers at war against the forces of Hell for the survival of the Earth. Having loved DOOM since 1993, I was really looking forward to the release of this tactical new DOOM.
However, the project was canceled after being attacked by critics who said, "This game is not DOOM!"
Then, in 2016, the game "DOOM (2016)" was released, with the main character being a man who can tear apart monsters with his bare hands.
The sad feeling I felt at that time, as if I was being crushed by a ceiling, was the beginning of my "Call of DOOM" project.


This is a big MOD project that brings elements of modern FPS like "Call of Duty" to DOOM(1993).
Its latest release, "Call of DOOM: TARKOV", introduces weapons and ammo from "Escape from Tarkov", the greatest game with the most realistic arsenal I know.

This mod includes 90 realistic firearms.
There are no sci-fi ray guns, no magic items that give you the ability to destroy monsters with your bare hands.

High performance modern firearms are not always available. Whether it's a rusty gun, a crudely modified gun, or an underpowered civilian rifle, you'll need to use it to survive.
In that world, you are the only human being willing to fight monsters. There is no one to give you tasks or sell you weapons and ammunition. There's also no safe haven for items you can't carry.
The only equipment available to you is what you can carry using your backpack. If you cannot carry any weapons, you will have no choice but to leave them there. Even if the weapon you dropped may never be available again.

Additionally, you need to know what firearms you have and the ammunition they are compatible with.
It's easier than Escape from TARKOV because the number of bullets remaining and the type of ammo loaded is always displayed on the HUD, but it's still difficult for people who haven't played that game before.
The AKM, AK74, and Saiga look very similar, but they all use different ammunition. Although the SKS, RPD, and MK47 look completely different, they can all use the same ammunition. There are three types of handgun bullets that include the number 9mm: "9x18mm", "9x19mm", and "9x21mm", and the guns that can use them and their performance differ.
I'm sure there are many people who don't understand what I mean, but this MOD is for people who can say they like that kind of complexity. If you don't like this kind of complexity, turn back now and play some other great mods and games.

Finally, as I have said many times before, this is not a charity project for any particular DOOM community, so I will not accept grandiose criticism or excessive demands.
I'm not a great programmer. Unless you have the technology to actually solve the problem and can support me, I would like you to resolve any complaints or improvements you would like to make about the MOD by yourself as much as possible.

About this MOD:

It seems to contradict my explanation earlier, but this MOD is very simple.
DOOM players who install this mod will be able to fight using realistic firearms and equipment instead of losing fictional weapons like plasma guns. Nothing more, nothing less.

The various items you can acquire are all used only for your survival.
In the world of DOOM, money and treasure are all worthless. Because there is no one left on earth who will do business with you.

The DOOM mod I am working on is NOT "Escape from tarkov: Total Conversion" or "Hideous Destructor: Tarkov edition".
I don't make mods that take more than an hour to complete a single map, or that require you to be frightened by a single Zombieman's bullet. I never thought of making one.
This mod fits many custom maps without making your gameplay too easy, difficult or ruined.

About weapons:

Unlike vanilla DOOM, where you just had to shoot full auto rocket launchers and BFGs, this mod forces players to think seriously about the ideal gunfight.
There will be 90 guns that differ not only in appearance but also in performance.
However, players can only carry a maximum of 4 long guns and 2 pistols. In order to pick up a new weapon, you must drop your current weapon at the risk of never being able to retrieve it again.
You can't always pick up good ammo, so carrying only high-end weapons may not be the best option.

Although not as complex and difficult as the real Escape from TARKOV, this mod still requires you to understand the capabilities of the weapons before using them, if possible.

Things to keep in mind when it comes to weapon performance are as follows.

- [ RARITY ]
Perhaps the rarity of the weapon is the most important factor.
The 90 weapons are divided into 6 levels of rarity, with lower quality weapons being easier to find and higher quality weapons being harder to find.
It is possible to fight bosses with only low-quality weapons, but unless you are looking for special suffering, it is better to actively exchange them if you find a weapon that is more rare than your own.

- [ CALIBER ]
This is probably the thing that gives you the most pain in this mod.
Even if the weapons are from the same category, you will have to collect different ammunition based on real life.
Unlike Escape from TARKOV, where you had to peruse the Wiki and study hard,This mod always displays the type of ammunition loaded in your gun at the bottom right of the player's HUD.

- [ CAPACITY ]
This mod requires reloading to keep the gun firing. The larger the magazine capacity, the more shots you can fire. However, larger guns tend to be slower to reload, so be careful not to get bitten by monsters while reloading.
By the way, if you are caught by a monster while reloading and cannot escape, there are four main ways to deal with it. "Use a knife", "Use a stun grenade", "Switch to another gun", "Throw your weapon at the enemy and quickly switch to a pistol".

- [ SIGHT SYSTEM ]
Most weapons are equipped with dot sights or scopes. The magnification and visibility vary depending on the type.
Furthermore, some high-performance weapons can be used by switching between a scope and a dot sight.

- [ FIRING MODE ] [ SUB FUNCTION ]
I don't think I need to go into too much detail, but even weapons that use the same ammunition can have different functions.
Most fully automatic guns can be switched to semi-automatic fire, which improves accuracy. In addition, weapons equipped with a high-performance scope can change the magnification, and weapons equipped with a grenade launcher can be switched to use.
There will also be special hunting gun that can fire both shotgun and rifle bullets in one gun.

- [ MOBILITY ]
When tackling highly difficult maps, mobility is also an important factor that cannot be ignored.
Carrying heavy weapons slows down the player's movement speed. If you need to run and escape from an enemy attack, it's a good idea to switch to a lighter weapon such as a pistol or SMG.

- [ DAMAGE ][ FIRE RATE ][ EFFECTIVE RANGE ][ ACCURACY ][ RECOIL ]
I don't think there's any need to explain it, but weapons with higher damage tend to be more difficult to handle. Please choose the appropriate weapon according to your skills and situation.
Also, while vanilla DOOM maps don't have situations where you have to snipe hundreds of meters away, some custom maps often require difficult and fun sniping. With the most powerful rifle in this mod, you can shoot bosses from one end of the map to the other.
