If you're willing to put in the hours, the things you can do with Ace just get more and more interesting. I've been using it for two+ years and I'm still working out new ways to do new things.

I use this engine since it got an english version, i'm trying to get an licence so i can post my game for you guys here
The program ins't THAT limited, if you know some Ruby and have a good progrmation experience you can do an awesome game. I highly recommend it ^^
Me and my friend are working on a project with RPG Maker VX Ace and in my opinion this engine is as powerful as your abilities. We make sprites with Fireworks and can code C++ we've found that this engine can take you wherever you want it to as long as you put in the time plus it gives a good kick off since you don't have to make your own engine and all.
