Thanks for using Pro:Gen! There's a couple of important things to note before you install it - please read this, it ain't called 'ReadMe' for nothing ;)
* You should have a cleanly installed genuine copy of Zero Hour, patched to the most recent version, before installing Pro:Gen.
* IMPORTANT - you should make a backup of your ZH game folder (the one with generals.exe, not the one in Documents). You will restore this backup when you uninstall Pro:Gen, and is necessary to prevent any errors, or a corrupt installation of Zero Hour, when you remove the mod.
To install:
- Extract the files in the .zip folder into your ZH game folder
To uninstall:
- Delete your ZH game folder
- Restore the backup that you made

Added launcher program to Start Menu upon installation:
- to start ProGen, you need to run Zero Hour either from the launcher or by creating a new shortcut to Zero Hour with the '-mod progenzh.big' parameter attached
- to play without ProGen, disable it from the launcher and start the game as usual
- launcher allows you to run the game in a window rather than fullscreen mode
- you can disable hardware shaders for a speed boost (but I don't recommend it)
- if you have the required DLLs, you can also run the script debugger and particle editor
- Changed naming convention on Nuke Generals Overlord Tank

- Guard function enhanced - your units can now follow and guard any of your own or allies units by targeting them with the guard cursor

- Enhanced in-game music and soundtrack - all soundtracks now repeat as they should and there's now a shorter delay in between tracks playing - no more minutes of silence
- Zero Hour now utilizes the Officers Club features (enabled by default with Pro:Gen)
- Difficulty level naming changed to match Generals - Normal, Hard and Brutal
- Superweapon restriction now allows construction of one of each type of Superweapon (SCUD Storm, Nuke Silo and Particle Cannon) rather than just one object
- Fixed some transition annoyances in the main menu system
- Infantry now use correct language-specific voices when killed by Anthrax Gamma
- All objects now display all correct icons for all upgrades - the only exception is the Demolition Generals 'suicide' upgrade as this would remove the surprise element and give it away to opponents who selected the relevant object
- Corrected tooltip on Supply Centers and Supply Stash - they are sold for 25% of their initial cost, not 50% as it stated
- Spy Drone now correctly benefits from Drone Armor upgrade (plus icon added when it has been upgraded)
- Numerous audio enhancements including new and unused unit sounds
- Enhancements to EVA voices including announcements of specific upgrades and Super Weapons - this has also allowed for the specific announcements of construction and launching of enemy and allied superweapons so players can finally tell the difference
- Paladin Tank now has correct upgrade icon for Hellfire Drone
- Enhanced MOAB - despite its $4000 price tag, the only difference between the MOAB and the FAB is a slightly larger radius of effect, different explosion effects and the shockwave (even after the 1.02 patch). The MOAB is now more spectacular and will inflict at least 25% more damage than the FAB over a wider radius. Its cost has also been reduced to $3000
- Corrected skinning issue on Missile Defender - now uses USA color scheme rather than Chinas
- Slight tweaks to effects of the Leaflet Drop
- Corrected sound for all USA Generals when a Firebase is selected
- Fixed AI bug where computer controlled players would not acquire Laser Generals' Sentry Drone as a threat or a target in many circumstances (also fixed similar issue with GLA Technicals)
Improvements to Spectre Gunship:
- fixed bug where it had less health at Level 2 and Level 3 than it does at Level 1
- now has selection portrait
- announces its arrival and departure
- no longer reveals the areas of the map through which it has traveled
Fixed Avenger:
- now correctly receives Composite Armor upgrade for all USA armies
- now leaves tread marks like all other vehicles
- can now manually target airborne objects (additional voices enabled for this)

- all USA armies now require Strategy Center to build Avenger again

- All American Supply Centers now correctly display icon with Supply Lines upgrade
- USA can now employ the Detention Camp again with the Intelligence ability as in vanilla Generals. The tooltip for the Intelligence ability has been fixed and it now recharges in 2 minutes again. Note that having multiple Detention Camps will only yield one instance of the ability, although you will retain the ability should one of them be destroyed. The buildup animation has also been fixed (the fences now rise from the ground rather than just appear)
- Fixed funky graphical glitch when Cold Fusion Reactor is built at night time
Fixes to Sentry Drone:
- now benefits from Drone Armor Upgrade like all other drones
- will now only auto-fire on targets when they have been discovered meaning that they will not automatically fire when stealthed and give away their position (unless placed in Guard mode)
- EVA announcement when they have been built
- Added animation sequence when Firebase is built and fixed incorrect fire-angle issue
Enhanced USA Laser General:
- Can now build Laser Paladin Tank (Generals Promotion required) armed with Railgun
- Shielded Microwave Tank can also disable vehicles but does not harm nearby infantry due to its shielded emitter
- Laser Cannon has replaced Particle Cannon Uplink. This recharges quicker and moves faster than a Particle Cannon although its speed cannot be changed through double-clicking
- Aircraft are equipped with Laser Guided Missiles
- Chinooks now correctly gain improved supply capacity with Supply Lines upgrade
- Rangers now correctly receive Chem Suit armor with the relevant upgrade
- Laser weapons implemented across all units
- All units now use specific Laser General voices
- Battle Drones replaced with 'point defense' Laser Drones
- Fixed tooltip mistake on power requirement for Laser Defense Turret
Enhanced USA Super Weapon General:
- Tomahawks can be upgraded with an Assisted Targeting System
- Rangers now correctly receive Chem Suit armor with the relevant upgrade
- Chinooks now correctly gain improved supply capacity with Supply Lines upgrade
- Supply Drop Zone is less expensive to build
- Aurora Alpha Bomber now deals correct damage levels with FAB and uses correct voices
- EMP Patriots no longer use assisted targeting module to prevent collateral damage
- EMP Patriots are now equipped with short range automatic anti-infantry measures
- Security Fences can now be built
- Ambulance replaced with Repair Vehicle - auto repairs nearby vehicles and heals infantry that are inside (also has greater payload capacity than Ambulance)
- Bio Hazard Infantry can be deployed to counter Toxic/Radioactive hazards
- Dozers can switch between building regular structures and Super Weapons - these now include the Cruise Missile Silo (ICBM) and the Tomahawk Storm
Enhanced Air Force General:
- Carpet Bomb is now a Level 3 Generals Ability and is deployed from Command Center
- Extra Fuel upgrade provides speed boost to Raptors and Stealth Fighters
- Countermeasures are more effective for this General than the others
- Fixed bug which prevented King Raptor from gaining Countermeasures
- All jet aircraft equipped with lock-on warning systems
- Aircraft can remain in the air longer before needing to refuel
- Stealth Comanches available without the need for an upgrade
- Aurora replaced with Hypersonic Aurora (faster with visually improved weapon)
- Stealth Fighters have secondary 'support' function - they will heal/repair any friendly units they pass over
- Combat Chinooks require Airfield rather than War Factory before they can be built
- All auxiliary aircraft now have point defense lasers as they should
Added USA 'Commander In Chief' Boss General:
- Has all the best available USA units and technologies - equipped for any combat eventuality
- Additional enhancements and additions specific only to this General
- Has one additional Generals Point to purchase abilities
- Fixed bug where Frenzy button vanished from Infantry and Nuke Generals Command Centers when Neutron mines upgrade was purchased
- Improved visual effects and voices for Listening Outpost
- Corrected sound for all China Generals when an Internet Center is selected
- Improved portraits on ECM Tank (used the correct one from the game manual)
- All Helix helicopters now have tougher armor (was previously same as Chinook)
Enhanced China Nuke General:
- Unit specific voices, icons and images for Battlemaster, Helix, Overlord and Nuke Cannon
- Weapons Grade Uranium Shells provide even more nuclear firepower
- Fusion Reactors provide an even greater speed boost to Battlemasters and Overlords
- Hackers are able to plant nuclear charges on enemy structures
- Tank Hunters are now Nuke Hunters whose missiles leave small fields of radiation
- Cluster Mines replaced with 'Nuke Drop' Generals Ability
- Fixed bug where Neutron Shells upgrade did nothing extra for Nuke Cannon
Enhanced China Infantry General:
- Minigunners now get Chain Guns upgrade as they should
- Fixed Nationalism/Patriotism icon bug
- Specific tweaks for Hacker deploying animation sequence
- Super Lotus can disable buildings as well as capture them
- Concrete walls can be built
- Improved Supply Trucks - carry greater amount of supplies
- Soldiers inside an Attack Outpost will be killed if they are inside when it is destroyed
- Infantry cannot be crushed by normal vehicles (but can be crushed by larger vehicles such as Overlord or Emperor Tanks)
- Infantry cannot surrender - they will die instead
- Napalm Strike Generals Ability added at Level 5 (replaces Carpet Bomb)
Enhanced China Tank General:
- Corrected some weapon stats which meant some units were not as improved as they should be
- Battlemasters and Overlords now correctly improved with all upgrades relevant to other Generals' units
- Slight change to Battlemaster image to differentiate it from others
- Emperor Tanks now benefit from Subliminal Messaging
Enhanced China 'Commander In Chief' Boss General (modified from original Boss General):
- Has all the best available China units and technologies - ruthless in combat
- Additional enhancements and additions specific only to this General
- Has one additional Generals Point to purchase abilities
- Added animation to Battle Bus when stationary as well as moving (hey - it's a rickety engine!)
- Worker Shoes upgrade is now available from the Palace instead of the Black Market
- Fixed bug which resulted in supplies being deposited at a greatly reduced rate once Fortified Structure upgrade was purchased as any GLA army
Fixes and improvements to Saboteur:
- Corrected icon used for entering buildings - tooltip is also more explanative
- Additional voices including correct death sounds
- Now has animations when climbing
- Can now steal cash from Supply Drop Zones
- Can now shut down Internet Centers and reset Satellite Hack ability
- Added missing animation sequence when thrown off a Combat Bike
- If used to infiltrate a structure that turns out to be fake, it will be instantly destroyed
- To further aid the difference, there are now specific images for fake structures whilst they are being constructed or sold
- Sneak Attack Tunnels now leave rubble when destroyed
- Enabled correct sound when fake buildings are selected
- Fixed Jarmen Kell firing position/muzzle flash bug when sniping vehicles
- Corrected image for Anthrax Beta upgrade icon (should not share Anthrax Bomb icon)
- Toxin Tractor no longer gains Anthrax Beta with veterancy - the upgrade must be purchased (this is for balance since it now improves its weapons anyway with salvaged parts)
- SCUD Storms now leave correct biological residue when destroyed depending on their anthrax payload type
- Infantry thrown off Combat Bikes when destroyed now use correct voices
- Fixed tooltips on all GLA Generals' Rebel Ambush abilities
- To improve unit management, the GLA Worker can now clear mines from within the 'fake structures' command set as well as the standard one
Enhanced GLA Stealth General:
- Fake structures can now be stealthed to aid in fooling opponents (note that if you then upgrade a fake structure into a real one, it will lose stealth)
- Battle Bus can now disguise as enemy vehicles in the same way as Bomb Trucks
- Quad 'sniper' Cannon can be upgraded with anti-infantry Sniper Bullets
- Radar Jammer upgrade can be applied to Radar Vans (renders Radar Vans similar in function to 'Mobile Gap Generators' from Red Alert)
- GPS Scrambler now available at 3 Levels - each level offers an increased radius of effect
Enhanced GLA Toxin General:
- Corrected tooltip description for SCUD Launcher
- Fixed graphical glitch when Toxin Rebels and Toxin RPG Troopers are placed onto a Combat Bike
- Specific voices and weapon tweaks for Toxin RPG Troopers
- Scorpion replaced with heavier armored version - slower but shielded from radiation and toxins
- POW Truck gains Toxin weapon through salvage crate pickups
- Anthrax Bomb Generals Ability is the 'gamma' version by default
- Toxin Shells Upgrade also affects Rocket Buggies
- Corrected disparity between damaged caused on Beta and Gamma anthrax missiles for all units (this has resulted in slightly less damage caused by Gamma missiles for the RPG Trooper, in line with other RPG Troopers although it is improved through the resultant poison field)
- Technical weapons upgraded through salvage crates now have toxins
Enhanced GLA Demolition General:
- Mobile Demo Traps can now be built at the Arms Dealer - small, cheap destructive devices which can be transported or even placed onto a Combat Bike! The Battle Bus comes loaded with 8 of these
- Corrected tooltip description for SCUD Launcher
- Added animation for Jarmen Kell placing demo charges
- Corrected icons on Booby Trap and Suicide abilities
- Terrorists have improved animation sequences when they explode - more powerful!
- Saboteur made available and given Demo Charge ability - animations added for placing charges
- Black Market Nuke has replaced the Anthrax Bomb Generals Ability - more fitting to Demo Gen
