This addon adds 4 entirely new medkits and 2 bandages, each with their own uses and applications.
New medkits:
Civilian medkit - a very simple medkit used to treat minor wounds, ailments and poisonings which may occur under household conditions. Not fit for The Zone's conditions, but might be a lifesaver for the common rookie due to its' low price.
Combat stimulant kit - unlike other medkits, this medkit focuses on boosting the user's capabilities in combat, giving them all sorts of boosts such as damage resistance, slight bleeding control and extra carryweight. Similar to the morphine ampoule, however lasts shorter, but is more effective and adds other extra boosts. Pretty rare to find.
Tactical medkit - an improved version of the army medkit, instantly healing the user 10% HP upon use and giving a few minor boosts in addition to the ones given by the army medkit. More expensive and rarer than army medkits.
Detox medkit - a medkit designed specifically for detoxication from environmental factors. This medkit does not heal, however, helps cleanse the body of all irradiated particles and helps heal alcohol poisoning as well as protect the user from the zone's elements.
New bandages:
Cooling bandage - this bandage is superior to normal bandages, because it reduces swelling, risk of inflammation and pain around the wound.
Pressure dressing - this is an alternative to the tourniquet, working essentially the same as a bandage, however, this applies far more pressure on the wound, helping reduce bleeding substantially better than a normal bandage.
Features:
- All factions have different drop rates, depending on the stalkers' rank.
- No FDDA animations, however, the screen movement when using the items is present like in vanilla anomaly.
- The new items are only available at certain traders. Duty and military are more likely to sell combat oriented medkits, while the ecologists are more likely to sell detox medkits.
I would appreciate feedback and any ideas/recommendations for more medical items.
I would love to have FDDA animations for this, however, since I'm awfully bad at coding, I would need the help of a more seasoned modder to get it working. Feel free to contact me if you'd like to cooperate.
Works with FDDA?
Compatibility-wise, yes! However, since I know nothing about animations, I can't create them for these medkits or make the existing ones work.
If you're using FDDA, these medkits will just have no animation
You should ask for someone to lend you a hand in the discord, since it's just a matter of recycling the normal medkit animations for your new ones, maybe with a simple texture swap. Probably not very difficult or time consuming for someone familiar with doing this.
Mod looks promising and interesting BTW, will try to give you some feedback whenever I get around to trying it in-game for a good bit.
Thank you very much! I was hoping to expand on this because I do have quite a lot of ideas bundled up in my brain for new medical items.
I did try asking in the Anomaly discord for help, however I did not receive much help other than one person who helped me fix some localization error that didn't let the mod work initially. Maybe I'll have better luck in the future
yeah , i agree with him. you dont need make new animation. for exaple fdda has ready anims for medkits depending on its type * stimpack etc). all what you need i just change texture , maybe some script and thats all
agreed.
If the fdda animations can be re-textured to match these new medkits then I'd give this mod 11/10, add it to gamma, wouldn't look back.
its not if , just quick edit of fddaa texutre of model. patch for fdda is pretty simple to do because all you need is copy section with litle change of script to load anims for those.
ayo lean medkit. 69/10 addon
Totally fresh mod. But since it has no animation so i will wait for your final version. Work your magic well comrade!
FDDA yay!!
The glorp juice medkit will keep the masses satisfied for decades. Good work.
Hi. Does this addon is compatible with BHS and HEALTH SYSTEM REALISTIC OVERHAUL?
I have not tested it with BHS, unfortunately.
[UPDATE 1]:
- Added detox medkit
- Added pressure dressings
- Added cooling bandages
- Higher drop rates from all factions, so now it's actually possible to obtain these medkits by looting
- Added medkits and bandages to more traders
- Added vanilla anomaly screen shake when using, so now your gun will be hidden for a few seconds after you use the new items.
Aye im loving this update, free medkits :D
same here! more medkits! and more medical!!
Does it support Russian language?
It'll work, but since I do not speak Russian, I couldn't translate, so it'll just be in English.
Some Medkits and bandages that are similar but do not fall into redudence (except for the bandages, those can have a different effect, although you can't do much with bandages ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Well I added the new bandages because sometimes in combat I'd get into situations where I'm bleeding heavily and don't have a tourniquet so I end up using 3-4 bandages. These bandages are just supposed to be more effective, sort of in-between normal bandages and the tourniquet.
As for the medkits, I wanted there to be ones for different purposes. Civilian medkits are great for very early game, tactical medkits are great for late game and the other two are very situational.
pretty cool addon, thanks
