Don't worry..
Just try following certain rules..
Weapons must have same kind of hands/gloves and same ankle. All of them.
Don't use different styles for weapons.
Don't use weapons not cut out correctly.
Stuff like this. Coherence and style should be as important as gameplay.
Check MACE ATOMRAIN mods. These are a perfect example for perfection

Also..avoid realm 667 sprites like the plague if you can't make them look good with animations. Those where used by so many beginners, it screams exactly that.
