It's a bit over the top, doesn't really make me think of Bad Company 2 while playing except for the fact that it has the explosion deafness sound effect from BC2, which seems to play every 5-10 seconds even if you aren't near an explosion
genuinely don't know how you managed to make the 2nd game worse than the first one lmao. enemies voice acting is. compelling. level design makes as much sense as my life does, and the plot i really don't know if there is one,but maybe that would be for the best.
i dont care what you say about my review, its mine. bro needs to make his own level.
While it has some great changes, it also introduced stuff that "enhances" the gameplay, like double jump (WTF?!), horrible music in mono (what year is this?!), or Fortnite-like HUD icons.
The only redeeming quality of this map is the map work
The brushwork is awesome and the details are top notch
And that's the only redeeming quality of this map
The map NEVER TELLS YOU WHAT TO DO, with confusing hallways and extremely terrible design choices.
Why on earth you need to use a tripmine to kill an assassin? Who designed this?
You just wander around for nothing till you found what to do but by that point, the map treats you like a fool.
Thanks, GT Interactive ☹️🖕
What's the point in making a storytelling multiple choise game in which your decisions don't matter AT ALL?
Dude got inspired just by one game and decided to make a source mod out of it, nothing impressive, nothing outstanding, nothing interesting, this can be done (if it wasn't already) in GoldSource so I don't see much purpose for this to exist, it's just there to express author's 2-hour long fixation about classic Resident Evil and nothing else.
The idea itself is good, but it has too many problems, not just the massive amount of crashes, but questionable design ideas.
Faction Leaders and Legend rank stalkers are insane bullet sponges to the point of taking literal no damage from weapons, armed with 10 grenades, massive healing, and usually a massive damage weapon.
Taking bases is really jarring, since allies take ages to arrive to aid you, and the fact that enemies keep spawning infinitely in a small time window, making it really boring after several attempts.
Another annoyance is that, after your faction gets enough power, it will start taking out other map regions incredibly fast and without any resistance, enemies are only bothered of re-taking points during the early game, after that it seems like they just give up.
Also sometimes, when you take down an enemy base, another random faction will instantly take it over before you can even capture it, really dumb of a mechanic.
Mod is unplayable crashes every 2mins in for no reason
This is for the hour wasted trying to make your mod work.
Having never played a BYOND roleplaying game outside of the occasional Space Station 13, I really enjoy Trace/Alter, but I cannot recommend it to anyone who is looking for a serious roleplay experience. While the main dev, Crazah, is very responsive, level-headed and well intentioned, the community lead / story lead Sovereign is anything but. If anything goes wrong (the game is a beta, bugs are expected) prepare to wait in the online equivalent of the DMV after submitting your ticket to the sole admin, Sovereign. Sometimes it takes days or weeks for him to reply, and will often gaslight you into 'rolling with the punches' instead of him lifting his fingers to do any work.
Not to mention, the coolest abilities and power fantasies are locked behind in-game factions, which are gatekept by - you guessed it - Sovereign's "event characters", which function to NPCs in a typical DND / MUD setting. This wouldn't be as big of an issue if there was any semblance of respect for the player's time, as often times these event characters will suddenly go inactive / AFK in the middle of conversations. If you've so much as ridiculed Sovereign in the public Discord, he will have no problem translating this to in-character slights, or otherwise just ignore you entirely. If you bring up complaints in their public Discord server, you'll be muted / kicked for "dooming" because they are unable to handle valid criticism.
Now, you don't *need* to join these in game factions to have in game power. There is an alternative method. You can install special bionics which can grant you similar levels of power. However... the only reliable way of unlocking these bionics is through microtransactions. For $60 you can get 100 credits which translates into 50 geodes. Of these 50 geodes you'll likely get around 5 legendary geodes which have a chance of containing bionics. You can also grind missions to get these items, but the drop late is insanely low and there's only one drop per dungeon. Each mission takes roughly 30 minutes to an hour.
Overall, I think the game has the potential to be a good, serious roleplay setting, but Crazah needs to hire someone who isn't so massively abrasive and bullheaded to run the game. I cannot recommend it in it's current state, however.
Bots barely do what they're supposed to. They never pick up dog tags that or navigate at all. It becomes super easy to win without even trying. Plus the performance can be really bad, either from too many bots or the map has little to no optimization (And we thought Crysis ran awfully). And it's been 3 years since the last update and the author just gave up. Such wasted potential.
Defenses are completely overpowered to a stupid degree. Ruins campaign mode. It's not fun to have to spend a massive amount of time in ever single system sniping from clouds. Which you cant speed up because they have an aoe that will kill anything it hits, so you have to be ready to move the entire freaking time. You cant use any ordinance on them because they have SO MANY TURRETS. If you like cloud camping for a half hour in every single fight, this is the mod for you. If you want to do anything else, dont bother.
not bad mod but is not very nice
I appreciate the effort that goes into projects of this size, but the balancing is just impossible. Every faction except for vikings has ridiculous income penalties and it's essentially unplayable if you try to do anything except participating in the modders' nordicist escapist fantasy. The income penalties makes the creation of units or buildings impossible past the first turn. I'm talking just one default army built and every settlement having -1000+ income for no discernable reason. Not to mention that several important buildings are totally bugged and don't allow for new unit production, even if you decide to cheat yourself money.
Basically unplayable unless you want to LARP as vikangs.
Бля опять?! Что это за говнище?! Пиксельхатинг конченый. Карта этого мода тупо моддинг старт с минимальными изменениями.
Короче просто говно!
the custom story of flying naked guys, there aint even one single monster
As a first time DoW player, and more than 30 years in RTS and strategy games of all type, i see this to change the great basic mechanics in a Starcraft(1 or 2, are the same gameplay) wanna-like be, making units and mouse clicks spamming play is not good at all! also i encouter a game breaking bug in a map during campaing in the first hour.
Not scary. Barely worth downloading.
